24 Hour Road Side AssistanceAll Europcar locations provide clients with 24 hour emergency road side assistance. The number in case of a break down for our standard fleet is 1800 625 035, this is printed on the Rental Agreement and Rental Agreement Wallet. Roadside assistance is free for all mechanical damage defects not resulting from Renter misuse of the vehicle. We charge for all non-mechanical defects such as lost keys, keys locked in the vehicle, flat battery due to lights being left on etc. Costs charged can be obtained by contacting Customer Service on 1300 720 055. In the case of an accident you must always remember to complete an accident report form, giving a full report of the circumstances. If another vehicle is involved you must complete a jointly agreed report with the other person involved. Renter maybe held responsible for costs incurred for damage to the rented vehicle if renter fails to complete an accident report form. Additional DriversAn additional driver is someone who is not “The Renter” but is someone the renter is giving permission to drive the vehicle as an “Authorised Driver”. Any additional driver’s need to show their Drivers Licence either prior to or at the time of rental. Every additional driver is charged an additional driver fee of $3.30 inclusive of GST per day. Age RestrictionsThe minimum age for all drivers is 21. Drivers aged
21 and 22 are restricted to the types of vehicles they can hire, please
contact our Reservation Centre for full details on: All Drivers under the age of 25 are subject to a daily age surcharge of $13.20 inclusive of GST (tax) Airport Recovery FeeThe Airport Recovery Fee applies to all Rentals collected from any of our Airport Locations. All goods and services purchased or supplied from an Airport incur an additional charge. The Airport Recovery Fee is applied to the total Daily Fee.
Damage and Optional CoverageAt Europcar, we strive to make renting a car an easy and enjoyable experience for our customers. It is important that our customers feel safe and secure in the knowledge that they have chosen the best protection package to suit their individual needs. ● Automobile third party liability for bodily injuryWhen you rent a vehicle from Europcar, Third Party Liability cover for Bodily Injury is provided in accordance with the legal requirements of the country of rental. This cover is automatically included in the rental at no extra cost. The level of coverage provided depends on local government legislation. For more information specifically related to Bodily Injury please log onto www.crsrehab.gov.au. ● Damage LiabilityWhen hiring a vehicle the Renter is liable for damage to the vehicle and third party property. In the event of an accident, loss or damage to the vehicle or third party property, a Damage Liability Fee (DLF) will be charged. This fee is charged regardless of who is at fault or the amount of damage. If the loss or damage is ultimately less then the DLF, part of the DLF will be refunded. The standard Damage Liability Fee (inclusive of GST) is as follows:
The above fees are subject to change. Please check at time of reservation or rental. The customer can reduce the above Damage Liability Fee by paying a supplementary fee. There are three options to choose from: ● Windscreen, Headlights and Tyres (WHT)This fee provides protection for damage to the front windscreen, headlights and tyres ● Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)This fee reduces the Damage Liability Fee in the case of loss or damage to the Europcar vehicle or third party property (excluding Windscreen, Headlights and Tyres). ● Total Protection Package (TPP)The total protection package combines both the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) and includes the Windscreen, Headlights and Tyres (WHT) at a combined lower cost for increased customer peace of mind. IMPORTANT NOTE If the TPP or LDW option is chosen it does not eliminate
the customers Damage Liability Fee but it does reduce the Damage Liability
Fee At all times, the customer must comply with the Rental Terms and Conditions of the Europcar Rental Agreement. If a customer is 21 or 22 years of age, the Damage Liability Fee can not be reduced. Equipment InformationFor the protection of your children, child safety restraint seats are available at some Europcar locations upon advance reservation. Babyseats cost $5.50 inclusive of GST per day. The Babyseat must be installed by the driver of the vehicle. For your child’s safety, remember these key tips: Carefully review both the child restraint and vehicle instructions ● All children should be buckled up in the back ● Never place a child restraint seat in a seat with an active airbag.
● Always get a tight fit – the restraint should
not move more than 2-3 cm (one inch)
● Make sure that the harness straps and clip

It connects three of Melbourne's major arterial routes and provides seamless travel between the Monash, Tullamarine and West Gate Freeways. Toll charges can be purchased through Europcar when you make your reservation or at the Branch at time of collection, the cost per rental day is $8.80 inclusive of GST. Alternatively you can purchase a day pass directly from Citylink starting from $9.10 inclusive of GST for a 24 hour pass (or one day). Before purchasing a pass from Citylink you must first have your rental car so the registration number can be entered into the Citylink system. Citylink does not accept AMEX or Diners Card as a method of payment. Contact details for Citylink: Telephone: 13 26 29 -- Website: www.transurban.com.au Method of PaymentEuropcar Australia accepts all major Credit Cards including Visa, Mastercard, Bankcard, American Express and Diners Card. At the time of vehicle collection there must be sufficient funds available on the nominated credit card to cover all applicable rental charges. When collecting the vehicle the credit card holder needs to be present, unless a Letter of Authority has been completed by the credit card holder. For more information on this procedure, please contact our reservation centre on 1300 13 13 90. Europcar Australia does not accept debit cards. Europcar Australia will not accept personal cheques as a means of payment for the rental. We do accept cheques that have an ABN or ACN number (i.e. a business/company registration number) printed on them. For all rentals being paid with cash the renter will need to pay the full amount of the rental and a security bond of $350. The security bond will be refunded when you return the vehicle. Europcar have a cash qualification process, please check at the time of reservation. Rental RestrictionsAt all times the Europcar Vehicle must be driven on sealed roads. As set out in the Rental Terms and Conditions there are some areas that Europcar Vehicles can not be driven and these include: Kangaroo Island and Fraser Island Into or out of the Northern Territory, Tasmania or to any points in Western Australia north of Carnarvon In the Northern Territory on the unsealed sections of Larapinta and Namitjira Drives, commonly known as the “Mereenie Loop” and the unsealed road to Jim Jim and Twin Falls In the Northern Territory, south of Katherine to the South Australian Border, outside local towns and city precincts between sunset and sunrise In Queensland: Beyond Chillagoe or Georgetown in a westerly direction If the vehicle is a passenger vehicle or truck, beyond Cape Tribulation or Laura in northerly direction; If the vehicle has four wheel drive, beyond Cooktown or Laura in a northerly direction Above the snow line in Tasmania, New South Wales and Victoria (from Jindabyne in New South Wales and Bright in Victoria) from 1 June until 30 September each year On beaches or through streams, dams, rivers or flood waters On flood prone roads or any roadway where the Police or any other Government authority have issued a warning or caution Vehicle Registration Recovery FeeVehicle Registration Recovery charges apply to all States and Territories. This recovery reimburses Europcar for Registration and compulsory third party insurance imposed by the various State and Territory Registration Authorities. A nominal fee of $3.50 per day is applied to every rental.
